Darryl Reano presents “The Indigenous Future of Geoscience Education”

Darryl Reano is a geologist and geoscience educator from Acoma Pueblo, New Mexico. He recently began a new position as an assistant professor in the School of Earth and Space Exploration at Arizona State University.

Darryl’s research is focused on supporting the development of inclusive educational environments using Indigenous research frameworks. Darryl completed his PhD in the Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences Department at Purdue University with a focus on geoscience education. Darryl’s dissertation focused on creating introductory geoscience educational materials that are place-based and culturally relevant for Indigenous students.
