Summary

My educational work focuses on underserved and underprivileged residents of the rural Yakima Valley. My research centers on body composition (sarcopenic obesity) in older female cancer survivors treated with chemotherapy and its association with physical function. My leadership prioritizes national involvement, advocacy, and policy for older adults and underserved and disadvantaged populations.

I was born and raised in Kansas and have lived in India and Japan. I live with my partner Amy and our cats Marshall, Spike, and Ollie. For money, I work as a nursing faculty and researcher. For leisure, I enjoy high-pointing, boardgames, gardening, cider-brewing, and finding and enjoying unique experiences. I define myself by my love of learning, and love of sharing the excitement of learning with others!
