Social Work

Social Work

Becoming a social worker is good fit for those who care about human dignity and social justice.  The field is just as diverse as the individuals, families, and communities we serve.  Social work is a profession devoted to helping people function the best they can in their environment. This can mean providing direct services.  It also can mean working for change to improve social conditions.

About Our Program

If you believe in social justice and that individuals should have an opportunity to thrive and to overcome challenges, then social work may be an excellent career choice for you. Our Social Work Department prepares students for entry-level generalist social work or graduate school. You’ll learn the latest practices from professors with years of experience working in the field, and you will be able to put your education to work in challenging and rewarding internships that prepare you for your future career. Our program places a special emphasis on the needs of the multi-cultural, rural constituency and humanistic values. In addition, our philosophy recognizes the potential of each student and strongly believes that your diverse cultural and ethnic background is an asset to your educational process. Heritage University’s Social Work program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
