About the Program

The Sciences program at Heritage falls under two over-riding categories: environmental sciences, including Natural Resources and Environmental Science, and biological sciences, such as Clinical Laboratory Sciences and Biology. Students pursuing majors in the environmental sciences are prepared to deal with complex environmental issues like air and water quality, conservation, renewable energy, and natural resource planning. Biological sciences degrees prepare students to enter the workforce as entry-level scientists or clinical lab scientists, or to pursue additional education at graduate or medical school. Heritage science programs offer knowledge in a range of subjects and makes available research opportunities to every student. The program meets the needs of three specific groups of students: those who plan to specialize in specific scientific areas, those who require the sciences to enhance their other degree programs, and those who wish to study these topics for their cultural and educational value. The program also offers curricula which provide pre-professional training and a comprehensive science foundation for students who may want to enter professional schools in the nursing or technical fields.
