About the Program
The Criminal Justice degree program at Heritage University aim to bring students a personalized experience focused on interaction and course tracks that fit their specific needs and goals. Students gain a wider understanding of law and justice, state and federal governmental workings, social issues, and the importance of cultural diversity from professors that have worked in the field. The curriculum provides a framework for developing the specialized knowledge and skills that lead to law, public service, and post-baccalaureate degree programs.
Students in the Criminal Justice program gain the skills, attitudes, insights, responsibility, ethics, and operational understanding necessary to succeed in the field. Along with learning the general principles, theory, policies, and procedures in the practice of criminal justice, students are exposed to social issues that provide insight into the causes and consequence of criminal behavior. With this understanding, they are encouraged to explore and think creatively to develop prevention strategies that help to solve future problems.
