Heritage 105, one of seven nationally recognized highly innovative programs in K-8 teacher preparation  serving candidates through a residency-based approach.  The program is a partnership of Heritage University, Educational Service District 105 and the school districts of Mt. Adams, Toppenish and Mabton.

Candidates accepted into the program serve on teams with other candidates and a core teacher, are assigned to a school and classroom and work directly with K-8 pupils full-time four days a week.  On the fifth day, candidates participate in seminars focused on the most immediate needs of candidates. The program operates on the district’s school calendar and candidates must be able to participate from mid-August through early June.

Candidates who successfully complete the program will earn an MIT degree in education with certification endorsements in K-8 and English Language Learners (ELL).  The 36 credit program is completed in three semesters.
