Heritage alumnus Francisco Guerrero loves Sunnyside, Washington. When he became a student at Heritage, he knew that he wanted three things for certain: a business career he could be proud of, to stay in his hometown near his family, and to help make his community better for all. Today, Francisco is happily enjoying all three goals.
Francisco graduated from Heritage in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. He has since parlayed his degree into a career at HAPO Credit Union where he works as the financial center manager in Sunnyside. Francisco is responsible for staffing and setting sales goals as well as ensuring his branch runs smoothly and profitably.
“One of the best parts of my job,” he said, “is helping our credit union members achieve their financial goals, whether it is improving their credit to buy a house or saving money on financial services and products.”
Francisco puts his professional skills to good use as a community leader, as well. As a representative of HAPO Credit Union, he enthusiastically serves on three independent boards and organizations, including: the Sunnyside Planning Commission, the Chamber of Commerce and the South Central Washington Workforce Council. He has played an important role in several community improvement projects, including championing zoning changes to allow for a new airport runway.
“I’m very proud to personally be able to make a difference right here at home,” he said.
Francisco looks forward to a future filled with helping many more friends and neighbors through both his professional and volunteer services.
