Advocacy Services

The Student Life Office works on the behalf of students to facilitate agreements with instructors, campus departments, and outside agencies. Students in need of advocacy services for academic or personal issues may contact the Student Life department for more information.

Books and Supplies

The Heritage University Bookstore on the main campus sells used textbooks, school supplies, snack items and beverages, and Heritage University apparel. The bookstore is located in Petrie Hall, next to the Jewett Student Center. New books can also be ordered online.

Childcare

Heritage University offers childcare services in a licensed facility. The childcare center is located across the street from the main Toppenish campus. It is open Monday - Friday during regular semesters. Visit the Childcare page for current schedule information. If you are interested in enrolling your child, call the Student Life Office at (509) 865-8510. Pre-registration is required.

Counseling Services

Professional counselors offer individual, relationship, family, and group counseling for students impacted by personal issues that could adversely affect their academic performance. All counseling services are confidential, unrestricted in number of sessions and offered at no charge. Visit the Counseling page for more information on our services.

Dining Services

Dining Services is located in the Jewett Student Center. This service provides snacks, beverages, and nourishing, inexpensive meals on weekdays. Mentors Program

The College Opportunities Mentorship Program (COMP) offers students academic and personal support. Mentors are generally juniors and seniors at Heritage University. Mentors assist students with difficult classes, such as general college requirements, English, or math. They provide tutoring and support to help students succeed in their classes.

Mentors help students look for scholarships related to their field of study. They offer assistance in applying for those scholarships. COMP also helps students find housing and transportation. Contact the Student Life department for more information.

Multicultural Affairs

The purpose and nature of the Office of Multicultural Affairs is to retain and recruit students of diverse cultures. The Office of Multicultural Affairs:

These activities are designed to provide assistance for students of color. Scholarship information targeting minority students is also provided. Recruiting visits are made to programs, schools and organizations to promote an interest in higher education among underserved minority communities. Student Orientations

A fall and spring orientation program is designed to acquaint new and continuing students with each other, the administration, faculty, and staff. College policies and procedures, academic programs, and available services are introduced and discussed. Dates and times for student orientations are scheduled by the Student Life Office. Transportation Information

Heritage University is located three miles west of Toppenish. Most students drive due to limited public transportation in the area. For information about carpooling and other transportation options, contact the Student Life department.
