Idalia Aguillon, Administrative Assistant Idalia has worked for Heritage University in the CAMP program for two years. Her goal is to facilitate your interactions with CAMP staff by providing information, setting appointments and offering other support services as needed. |
Damiñon S. Garza, Academic Advisor Damiñon is the CAMP program’s academic advisor and has been with the program since the summer of 2003. He assists all CAMP students with any issues related to their academic success. This includes registration advising, helping in development of four-year academic plans, financial aid assistance, tutoring, and course concerns. Michael Mata, Student Development Activities Specialist Mike Mata is the Student Development Activities Specialist for CAMP at Heritage University and has been a student at Heritage University. While at Heritage, he’s been active with the athletics club, A.S.B., the computer club, and Step Up and has also been a Mellon Recipient, National Science Foundation Scholarship Recipient, and a Presidential Fellow. His experience will help students achieve the academic foundation to successfully reach their educational and career goals. He feels privileged to be part of the CAMP team here at Heritage University. |
Miguel Puente, Director
Education: Mr. Miguel Puente has served the CAMP Program in administrative capacity since 2001 and has been instrumental in helping hundreds of farm worker students achieve their academic goals. He is guided by his own experiences as a seasonal farm worker throughout the Yakima Valley during his adolescent and young adult years. As a member of a family with extensive background and history in migrant work, experience, and advocacy, Mr. Puente has a valuable understanding of migrant student struggles and motivation. |
Yajaira Tovar, Outreach and Recruitment Specialist Yajaira has lived the farmworker experience since her family came to United States in 1980. Having this background allows her to relate to CAMP students. Her goal is to empower families to pursue the “American Dream” through higher education and become successful in life. Yajaira believes that every student is capable of reaching their goals.
