The Heritage Factor: From Inclusion to Achievement in American Higher Education
Presentation by Dr. John Bassett, president
For America to fulfill its potential in the 21st century, we must include diverse populations in colleges and universities, and in leadership positions in the workforce. For nearly 30 years, Heritage University has been recognized as a leader in moving the least privileged populations from access to success in rewarding careers and meaningful lives. What challenges lie ahead as higher education works to build academic inclusion and achievement? And, what can this young university teach us about working with those who have traditionally been left behind — low-income, first-generation, and minority students — in order to meet these 21st century needs?
