Beginning Fall of 2017, students will be awarded institutional Eagle Scholarship funds as part of financial aid packaging. When these funds are added to federal and state grant eligible students, they would need minimal amount of self-help to cover full-time tuition. Eagle Scholarships support both incoming freshman and continuing students with the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) less than $11,824. The gap between EFC, Federal Pell Grant, FSEOG, and Washington State Need Grant will be covered by the Eagle Scholarship. This model of financial aid packaging allows students to begin their academic programs with predictable financial support as well as mitigate the student's need to borrow.Continuing students will also be eligible for Eagle Scholarship funds.
We encourage all students to complete the Heritage University Academic Scholarship Application for consideration of other merit scholarships. Additional scholarships can be found under Outside Scholarships under the Financial Aid section of the student portal, myHeritage, and in the washboard.org.
How can you afford it?
More than 95% of Heritage students receive financial aid—and so could you. Heritage University’s Financial Aid office specializes in helping you find the resources to afford your education. You’ll have access to the same state and federal financial aid found at any public institutions, such as grants, work study and student loans. Plus, you’ll be eligible for additional aid Heritage raises privately that is only available to our students. This combination of public and private financial aid means that the portion you pay for an education at Heritage could be much less than at other four-year schools.
Once students complete their freshman year, financial aid grants tend to increase.
Continuing and transfer students often find 100% of their tuition and fees are covered.
Plus, there are other forms of financial aid to help pay additional expenses like books, childcare and transportation.
Making it Possible.
At Heritage University, we’re committed to making sure nothing stands in the way of your college education, especially finances. With financial assistance in the form of loans, grants, scholarships and work study programs available to all qualified students, you can reach your educational goals without putting a huge financial burden on your life.
Both federal and state financial aid is available to students through FAFSA, and, since Heritage is a private university, we’re able to further supplement student aid through institutional scholarships. Currently, Heritage awards nearly $1.6 million annually, and over 95% of our students are able to take advantage of some sort of financial aid. So no matter what your situation, continuing your education and achieving your goals is more possible than ever.
Attending a private university that offers personalized attention, low student-to-faculty ratios, a highly-involved and supportive alumni and a professional faculty with ties to real-world contacts is no longer reserved for people with money. Our financial aid packages allow students to get this type of education without worrying about the large tuition fees that you would typically see from a private university. Oftentimes, a Heritage student’s total out-of-pocket amount is much lower than they would ever expect.
