Heritage University values the importance of students’ participation in clubs and organization and recognizes that they play an essential role in student and campus engagement. By joining a club or organization, students have the opportunity to meet new people with similar interests, learn new things, and participate in activities and events. The listing below outlines the variety of clubs or organizations available at Heritage University.
Accounting Club
The purpose of the Accounting Club is to provide the students of Heritage University an opportunity to: 1) gain a better understanding of the problems and potentialities of the business world, 2) facilitate an opportunity for membership in the external professional societies, and 3) provide a service to the community, so that they may be better prepared to carry out their responsibilities as future business leaders and professionals.
Athletics & Recreation Club
The Athletics & Recreation Club provides students the opportunity to participate in recreational extra-curricular activities at Heritage University. The club facilitates sporting events and activities, supports the growth of athletic/recreational facilities on campus, and encourages students to participate in any recreational activities available through the University. Competitive sport teams sponsored by the club are Men/Women Soccer, Men/Women Basketball, Co-Ed Volleyball, Softball and Flag Football teams.
Computer Club
This organization brings students together to encourage opportunities for utilizing computer technology. The Computer Club also supports the students and departments of Heritage University.
Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán (M.E.Ch.A.)
M.E.Ch.A's purpose is to raise the awareness of Chicanas and Chicanos social, cultural, economic, political, and philosophic issues to students, faculty, staff, and the community-at-large in the Yakima Valley. The club strives to involve itself in the affairs of Heritage University with an emphasis on working with other student groups for the betterment of the University’s environment.
Music, Drama, & Fine Arts Club
This club enriches the musical, dramatic and artistic knowledge of its members and introduces the students, faculty, and the surrounding community to all aspects of the fine arts. Additionally, this club supports and develops artistic opportunities for the students at Heritage University as part of a liberal arts education and multi-cultural study.
Multicultural Dance Club
The Multicultural Dance Club promotes the awareness and the richness of multiculturalism through the medium of dance. Heritage University students are welcome to join the Multicultural Dance Club. Members perform at campus and local community events.
Native American Club
The Native American Club promotes and provides personal pride and enrichment opportunities for Native American students, other Heritage University students, and the campus in general. Additionally, the members of this organization assist in promoting awareness of Native American culture and tradition while encouraging more community interest and participation in Heritage University’s commitment to quality education.
Program for Early Parenting Support (PEPS)
PEPS is a parent support group for students and the campus community with children ages 0-6 which provides parents with the knowledge, skills and a sense of responsibility to assist their children in developing to their fullest potential.
Psychology Club
The Psychology Club allows students majoring or minoring in psychology to interact with others who have similar interests, while expanding their understanding and knowledge of psychology.
Students in Free Enterprise (S.I.F.E.)
SIFE promotes the free enterprise system through participation in community and campus projects. Projects are developed to benefit local community members and to educate HU students on community needs, project development, organization of process, and professional presentations.
Social Work Student Association (S.W.S.A.)
SWSA is designed to enhance the profession of Social Work and the Heritage University Social Work program through activities that focus on community service and promote student growth and development.
