III. PREPARATION REQUIREMENTS FOR SECONDARY-LEVEL (Levels 5-12)

Bachelor of Arts Degree for Secondary Teachers (Levels 5-12)

This baccalaureate degree program is designed to prepare students planning to teach at the secondary level or in departmentalized situations. Students major in an academic area of visual arts, English/language arts, mathematics, or science (concentration/endorsement in biology or chemistry). Advisors from both the major department and the Education Department are assigned to each student. For program details, see the appropriate department section of this catalog.

Upon satisfactory completion of all requirements for a B.A. degree and all certification requirements, including successful completion of any required pedagogical assessments, Heritage University recommends the student to the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction for approval of all endorsements earned, as well the Washington State Residency Teacher Certificate.
