Congratulations Carlos Mendez (English M.A. program)! Carlos's poem The French Braid from his series Things I Don't Know About Women took first place in the Allied Arts Juried Poetry Contest in the humor catagory.

Amber Andrews (English M.A. program) will be presenting her paper From Monster to Anit-Hero: The Evolution of Literary Vampires from the 18th to the 20th Century at the Popular Culture Assocation's annual meeting in St. Lous in March. The PCA is one of the largest professional associations for popular culture in the United States. Amber graduated with a B.A. in English in 2008. She returned to Heritage in fall 2009 to enter the Master in Arts in English program.
