The Heritage M.Ed. in Special Education is for educators who anticipate working with special-needs K-12 students.
Success is in reach
Heritage makes continuing education fit your busy life. The Special Education program is offered close to home on the Toppenish campus. In addition, classes are held on weekens and during summer so that you can continue to work while earning your degree.
The path is clear
The master’s degree program requires the completion of 34 credits, which takes five semesters. Students seeking a special education endorsement separate from the degree need 24 credits. Given the slight difference in course requirements, many students elect to take the additional ten credits needed for the master’s degree, which garners a pay increase in Washington State.
The Special Education program is taught by dedicated educators who are experienced practitioners in the field. You’ll learn the latest research-based instructional practices, which you can apply directly in your classroom.
The program includes a practicum that lets you take the concepts and theories you learn and apply them in a classroom setting to get immediate feedback on your performance.
