ProTeach Portfolio

The Heritage ProTeach Portfolio Support program is for teachers who already have Residency Teacher certificates and need to fulfill the Washington requirement for second-level certification.

Success is in reach
Heritage makes continuing education fit your busy life. The program is conveniently offered in Tri-Cities, Toppenish and online. In addition, classes are held in the evenings so you can continue working while earning your degree and/or advanced certification.

You’ll journey with friends
Heritage facilitates student success through its use of the cohort model. This study arrangement lets you and your fellow classmates advance and work collectively throughout the ProTeach program. It helps you build a supportive network that encourages collaborative discussions, ideas, and feedback that continues long after graduation.

The path is clear
The master’s degree program requires the completion of 32 credits, which takes as little as five semesters. Students preparing for Washington State ProTeach testing separately, need to finish eight credits.

Heritage’s program helps you build a portfolio of evidence that meets Washington State Standards for Effective Teaching, Professional Development, and Professional Contributions. It is taught by practicing educators skilled in new educational theories and practices, who can help you turn your classroom into a learning laboratory.

To meet your goals for professional growth, your instructor helps you build a personal team that includes a university advisor, a colleague/mentor, and a district representative to offer you support throughout the ProTeach process. Heritage strives to be hands-on with your education by offering as much one-on-one attention as possible.

Offered in Tri-Cities, Toppenish and online.
