Welcome to the youngest students on campus: the children at the Heritage University Early Learning Center. The Heritage University Early Learning Center (HUELC) offers an educational experience within a nurturing environment for children ages 1 year to kindergarten age. The center is available to all students, all faculty and all families in our community. Families receiving outside support through Department of Social Health Services or Yakama Nation Child Care Grant are welcomed as well.
We pride ourselves in offering a rich, multi-cultural environment that celebrates the richness of our diverse families and staff. We are fortunate to be able to expose our children to English, Spanish, Sahaptin and American Sign Language. We offer an environment of inclusiveness where children feel pride in their culture and their individual skills; a place where they belong and feel safe to explore and learn.
We are fortunate to be affiliated with Heritage University to expose our children to activities on campus. Whether it is listening to the drummers from the Yakama Nation, trick or treating or caroling during the holidays, we see ourselves as part of a greater whole. Our connection with the university is not only physical. We want our children to see themselves as lifelong learners and one day future graduates from college.
Heritage University's Early Learning Center is fully licensed through the state of Washington. The staff meets all state licensing requirements for first aid and food handling. Many hold credentials in early childhood education and child development.
