ABOUT THE ACADEMY
The Heritage University Online Graduate program continues its commitment to provide high quality culturally relevant professional development to aspiring and current organizational leaders in Washington State. National, regional, and local leaders came to our region in the first year of the Organizational Leadership Academy and brought inspiration and new leadership strategies to those in attendance. We invite you to share your inspiration and leadership experience and strategies for another very successful academy. Proposals are particularly encouraged that focus on this year’s theme of: “Leading from the Inside Out.”

REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTANCE
All proposals must be submitted on or before April 30, 2013.
Proposals will be provisionally accepted or rejected within 2‐3 weeks by the Program Committee and notices will be sent out by email, with acceptance contingent on receipt of registration fees. If your proposal is accepted, the conference registration fee must be paid by June.
Payment of the registration fee will result in a final acceptance.
ROUNDTABLE / PANEL PROPOSALS
A roundtable/panel consists of a chair and no more than five presenters. A roundtable/panel proposal consists of a title, abstract, and the proposed roundtable/panel participants. The Chair organizes the roundtable/panel and submits information for all roundtable/panel participants via email. The abstract should consist of a statement about the topic and a brief summary of the main issues to be explored (approximately 250 words). The quality of the roundtable/panel abstract is the main criterion for acceptance.
INDIVIDUAL PAPER PROPOSALS
The paper abstract should consist of a statement about the topic, the nature and extent of the research on which the paper is based and a brief summary of the main argument(s) (a maximum of 200 words). The quality of the paper abstract is the main criterion for acceptance.
The presentation abstract should consist of a statement about the topic, the intended audience and a brief summary of the content (a maximum of 200 words). The quality of the presentation abstract is the main criterion for acceptance.
The Program Committee will review only complete proposals. All proposals must be submitted via email to GradOnline@heritage.edu. Submissions will only be accepted in Word or PDF format.
INDICATING A SUBMISSION CATEGORY
All proposals should designate the category/categories for which the proposal is most appropriate.
There are two types of categories to choose from: One (1) hour or half hour (30 minute) sessions. In addition, please specify whether the submission fits into the overall conference theme (Leading from the Inside Out) or one of the following sub-themes:
• Leading in Diverse Communities
• Building Trusting Relationships
• Leadership Practice & Process
Presenters should notify us in writing (GradOnline@heritage.edu) as soon as possible if they know they are unable to attend the academy. The withdrawal will be reflected in the Final Program or in the Final Program addendum if we receive it by July 1, 2013.
AUDIO VISUAL EQUIPMENT
Heritage will provide projectors with a standard VGA connection in all session rooms. Laptops are connected to the projectors in each room. Please bring a thumb drive and any handouts you wish to share. Contact us at GradOnline@heritage.edu with AV questions/requests.
