Applicants for the Practical Nurse (PN) Program and LPN to RN ADN Bridge Program must also apply and be accepted into Heritage University prior to submitting their application to the Nursing Education Department. The Nursing Program at Heritage University has admission requirements above those necessary for general admission to the University. In addition to the prerequisites listed the students must meet all of the legal requirements of the institutions or agencies where clinicals will occur. This includes a Verified Credentials National Background check upon admission and a Washington State Patrol criminal background check each semester. Following is a link to the DSHS Secretary's list of crimes and negative actions for use by ADSA Home and Community Services for Individual Providers and Home Care Agencies, Residential Care Services for Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities & Adult and Family Homes. An American Heart Association BLS/CPR Certification is required. Health insurance is required. Individual student malpractice insurance is required. Verification of all required immunizations is also a requirement.
Applicants will contact Michelle May at: 509.865.8526, prior to February 13, 2013 to schedule a testing day for the following ADN Bridge Program Transition test dates: Thursday, March 14 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and Friday, March 15 from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
For additional dates for the Kaplan Transition test please contact Michelle prior to March 29, 2013 for the following dates: Wednesday April 17, 2013 at 9:00 am and Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 9:00 am.
The Kaplan Admissions Test, PN applicants may choose from the following days: Friday, March 1, 2013, from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday, March 4, 2013, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, Thursday, March 7, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m, Wednesday April 17, 2013 at 9:00 am and Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 9:00 am. Applications were revised in January 18, 2013 and reposted to the Website. Please submit "Official Transcripts" to Heritage University Registrar's Office if you are a transfer student.
Application packets are due: April 19, 2013 by 5:00 pm. If you are not a current Heritage student please apply and have your official transcripts to the Registrar's Office prior to the application deadline.
*Incomplete application packets will not be considered.
All applicants will be notified by May 10, 2013.
