The mission and vision statements of both the Nursing Department and the Heritage University are linked to one another. The mission, philosophy and vision of Heritage University are what drive the mission, philosophy and vision of the Nursing Department. Both the University and the Nursing Department place an emphasis on reaching a diverse population. The mission and philosophy of the Nursing Department include the provision of quality nursing education that reflects the University commitment to teaching and service to the community. Emphasis is also placed on developing knowledge and skills that promote lifelong learning.
The Nursing Department vision:
“To prepare nurse leaders to meet the unique health care needs of communities with emphasis on underserved populations and rural environments through excellence in education and evidenced-based practice.”
The mission of the Nursing Department is committed to meeting the educational needs of future professional nurses within the ever changing health care system. The program is committed to advancing health care by providing effective educational programs through excellence in teaching, clinical leadership and service to the health care community.

Including focus on health and well-being consistent with accepted standards of professional nursing practice.
