From the President
As the academic year draws to a close, I can’t help but be amazed at all that has happened at Heritage in the past year. What a year it has been! The university has been even more abuzz with activity these past few months than normal. We have the work of our amazing students who always represent this university and our valley so well. Our Enactus students are helping change the economic conditions of people in their community, and their work is recognized at a national level.
Meanwhile, Heritage is growing its academic program and its reach into our community. The new Physician Assistant program was officially launched, and the first cohort of students are starting their studies. Our Environmental Science program is building partnerships with local schools and agencies that are exciting young minds and encouraging them to prepare for careers in the STEM fields.
Our Bilingual Education program received grants to increase the number of teachers and principals endorsed to work with English Language Learner students.
Of course, there is the campus itself, with its new construction that will be completed mid-summer. Stay tuned for news of grand opening celebrations coming in September. Culminating all of this excitement was the celebration of our graduates at Commencement. We couldn’t be prouder of these men and women who made their education a priority, persevered over adversity and made their dreams of a college degree a reality. Congratulations, Class of 2014, on a job well done.
