Somos Indios Speaker to Visit
On November 8, Heritage will welcome its final speaker in the seminar series, Somos Indios, “We” are Indian: Bridging Indigenous Identities. Dr. Kim Christen, associate professor in the Department of Critical Culture, Gender and Race Studies at Washington State University, will speak about indigenous sovereignty and identity.
Dr. Christen has worked in Tennant Creek, Northern Territory, Australia, over the last decade with Warumungu community members, and she currently serves as the director of the Plateau People's Web Portal, a collaboratively curated site of Plateau culture materials.
