Heritage Named Military Friendly School
Heritage University was placed among the top 20% of colleges, universities and trade schools in the country for active-duty service members, veterans and their spouses by Victory Media, publisher of GI Jobs Magazine.
“Inclusion on the 2014 list of Military Friendly Schools® shows Heritage University’s commitment to providing a supportive environment for military students,” said Sean Collins, vice president at Victory Media. “The need for education is growing and our mission is to provide the military community with transparent, world-class resources to assist in their search for schools.”
The listing was developed to help military students find the best school to suit their unique needs and preferences. Developers look at a number of factors, including leading practices in the recruitment and retention of students with military experience, academic programs, flexible credit policies and services to those who served.
Heritage’s acceptance of the G.I. Bill and participation in the Yellow Ribbon Program, a voluntary effort in which private universities discount a portion of their tuition for veterans, contributed to its being selected for the third year in a row. In addition, veterans can convert some of their military training to college credit. Those who are called back to active duty while enrolled at Heritage can withdraw from classes without penalty.
