The Pacific Inistitute at Heritage

Diane Tice, co-founder of The Pacific Institute, an international development corporation for individuals, professionals and organizations, presented the keynote address at Heritage University’s Fall Student Convocation on September 18.

In her address, Tice encouraged students to set their goals high, and she pressed faculty to be coaches who help students uncover steps to reach their goals. Setting goals, said Tice, is about the four Ds:

1) Discover something you want to do or become; 2) Dream of what it would be like; 3) Design a plan or map of how to get there and; 4) Deliver on that dream by following through with your plan.

Tice, along with her late husband, Lou, founded The Pacific Institute (TPI) 41 years ago to help people reach their fullest potential through leadership development and change management. Since its founding, more than 60% of the nation’s Fortune 1,000 companies have worked with the Institute, and more than 30 million people worldwide have participated in its programs and services. Heritage implemented TPI on its campus last year, opening training to faculty, staff and students. To date, nearly every faculty and staff member has gone through the TPI training.
