SIFE travels to Washington, D.C.

A reputation for being one of the top student business teams in the nation led to an invitation for Heritage Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team to participate in activities surrounding this fall’s World Cup, the finale competition between top SIFE teams from around the globe. Thirty-nine teams from countries as varied as Australia and Azerbaijan to Poland and Russia competed for the title of number one in the world.

For teams like Heritage’s, which were not in the competition, the event provided a chance for students to sharpen their presentation and leadership skills for next year’s competition and to network with students, academics and business leaders. Along with leadership training seminars, students participated in a series of roundtable discussions with corporate leaders about current business trends.

“It is an incredible experience to be with so many other students who are not only focused on being their best and honing their skills, but also doing it in a way that makes a difference for others,” said Juan Aguilar, a junior majoring in business and Heritage SIFE’s public relations director. “It’s inspiring.”
