Heritage University launches new medical degree program
Toppenish, Wash.- A new program at Heritage University will help students strengthen their applications for medical or other health-related professional schools. The university is now offering a Master of Arts in Medical Sciences, a program developed in consultation with Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program in Yakima, Wash.
“Entry into any medical school is highly competitive,” said Curt Guaglianone, vice president of Academic Affairs and provost at Heritage University. “We worked closely with PNWU to build this program so that students can demonstrate their preparedness for the rigor of medical training and can stand out among their peers in the applicant pool.”
The one-year, 36-credit medical science program is closely aligned with the first year of study at schools like PNWU. It is the only program of its kind in the Pacific Northwest. The program is limited to 18 participants, ensuring small class sizes and personalized attention. Graduates of similar programs in other regions enjoy an 80% success rate for entry into medical or other health-related professional schools.
