From the President
The Heritage University campus this spring has been more abuzz with activity than at any time since I arrived in 2010. Students are spending more time beyond their classes in community activities and clubs. Staff, faculty and students are enthusiastic about the three splendid new buildings, replacing Petrie Hall, that have been going up before their eyes. By August they will have full use of a new classroom building and art studio, a dining commons with bookstore and conference center, and a new IT center.
Meanwhile Heritage alumni and students continue to be the real story here. Our many alumni—like Pat Silkett, teaching children in far reaches of the globe—make us proud. Current students—like Latasha and Joseph Larez, helping local schoolchildren make healthy decisions and find their voice through poetry—remind us each day why we love to come to work.
As you read in this issue of Wings about Heritage students and alumni, reflect on how important you are to their success. Through the generosity of our donors, students receive the scholarships that make Heritage a reality for them and benefit from superb facilities and programs and professors who are truly committed to their success. On behalf of the board of directors and the faculty, staff and students at Heritage University, I thank you for your continued support.
