Heritage University Enactus tops again
It’s a winning streak that only a few can boast: a decade of being at the top of the class. Heritage Enactus (formerly Students in Free Enterprise or SIFE) took home those bragging rights after being crowned the regional champion for the tenth year in a row.
“We are so excited and honored to be named regional champion and are looking forward to attending nationals in Kansas City,” said Carmen Mendez, a member of the Enactus presentation team and president of the Heritage Student Government Association.
Enactus is an international student organization whose members use their business acumen to tackle social issues. Each university chapter creates and manages projects that encourage financial literacy, money management, entrepreneurship and business skills. These chapters present their projects and the impact that they made at regional competitions. The top teams from each region go on to compete nationally. The team that takes first place in the United States represents the country in the World Cup. Since it first made it to the national level in 2004, Heritage’s team has been in the top 20 eight times consecutively, three of which they have been ranked third in the nation.
