From the President
Commencement, held beneath a bright sun in the face of sacred Pahto (Mount Adams), is a bittersweet season at Heritage when we shed tears and say "farewell" to those students receiving diplomas; nonetheless, we proudly celebrate the sweetness of their college success. We glory in the ritual of Commencement, for what seems like the end is truly a beginning, the start of our students' professional lives.
Our graduates invariably battled against intimidating odds, first simply to access college and then for success as they climbed over the high bar set for graduation. They are stepping boldly into their futures. Among them are teachers taking charge of their own classrooms, future doctors who are entering medical school, scientists and social workers furthering their education at prestigious graduate schools, and business professionals poised to become leaders at Fortune 500 companies across the United States.
Please join Kay and me in congratulating these outstanding men and women who are no longer Heritage students, but Heritage alumni. We are all so proud of you!
