FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Heritage University Breaking Ground for New Construction
Toppenish, Wash. – Heritage University is holding a groundbreaking ceremony for two new buildings on its main campus in Toppenish. The ceremony will take place on February 19 at 1:00 PM. The two buildings will accommodate the need for more classrooms and offices as Heritage University continues to expand its academic programs to meet the educational needs of the Yakima Valley.
The first building will house the university’s Physician Assistant program, enabling Heritage to expand its capacity to 48 students. It will also house offices for PA faculty and support staff.
The second building will hold administrative offices for the President, the Vice President of Support Services, the Provost, as well as the Business Office and Human Resources. It will also have two classrooms.
The new facilities are designed by Tom Kundig and Kirsten Murray of Olson Kundig Architects. Olson Kundig, based in Seattle, has designed award-winning buildings nationally and internationally for universities, museums and cultural centers, civic projects and places of worship. Heritage University previously contracted with Olson Kundig to design the new Petrie Hall, the Gaye and Jim Piggott Commons and Gagnier Hall, which were built in 2013-2014. The new construction is part of the campus master plan that Olson Kundig developed for future growth.
President John Bassett will lead the ceremony which will be followed by a reception in the Patricia Wade Temple Room. The public is invited to attend both the ceremony and the reception. For more information, contact David Wise at 509-865-0717 or wise_d@heritage.edu.
